Is a LA CAGE cast album really necessary, though? It original is far superior, and nothing has changed in the revival - it would be just like a reissue with lesser performers. Monetarily speaking, would they make any money? I don't think so, but that's my opinion. I'm all for new recordings, it's great to have every production documented, but this one seems slightly unnecessary.
Too bad they hadn't recorded the Broadway cast of BOMBAY DREAMS - there were new songs and a new cast for Broadway. The London CD sounds terrible, and the orchestrations and new arrangements from Broadway were excellent. Typical London transfer, though- only recording the London cast...
