There was another thread about this a few days ago. If the opening date is changed or is going to change it will be posted on the official "RENT" website:

Posted: 8/1/05 at 3:24pmBesides, Phantom had said, "In select cites," ahead of time. The reason my hopes got up was because the list of "selected cites" included my town in the midwest section, right after the nearest big city, St. Louis. It didn't get here in Dec., though.
