I am planning to try and get rush tickets for the 2:30 matinee next Saturday and was hoping someone would know how early I should get to the theater. I know they go on sale when the box office opens. Does anyone know how many rush tickets they offer and where in the theater they are located? Thanks
The last time I rushed this show (which was quite a while ago) there were only about 5 people in line by the time they opened at 10:00 AM. And the seats were located in the front orchestra, far sides, partial view. Sad because I spent many WONDERFUL evening in front row center rush seats at this show. Sad that they took that away. :'
Sad to read they no longer offer the front row Orchestra Center seats as their Rush Tickets.
Back during the revival's run at the Shubert Theatre I saw the show countless times in front row Orchestra Center seats for $20. The revival was still a hot ticket for several years due to the stellar casting choices so as long as you were in line by 6:30am, you just hung out until the box office opened and then you were off to enjoy your day by 10:05am.

Only time I ever attempted to rush it was Jennifer Nettles and Carly Hughes' last show. Needless to say I got there too late. I did get a SRO ticket though. The show was sold out almost their whole run
I rushed once a few years ago and got a ticket around 45 minutes before the show. Front row far side orchestra, not too bad a view.

One second before the last rush ticket would have been sold had you not arrived.

Has anyone rushed recently? I'm hoping to rush next Friday for 3 tickets.
Seems like Chicago would be fairly easy to get rush tickets. Should I arrive a little early due to the Holidays?

My friend rushed last Friday. He arrived at 9:45 am and there were 6 people in front of him. He was able to get 2 tickets for the show. Hope this helps.

Do you mean you want to attend on 12/15 OR 12/22?

First I would recommend pre-checking with the box office that rush hasn't been pulled for that date due to it being a holiday weekend.
Chicago is notorious for NOT having a rush line during certain holiday dates.
