Apparently, "Tarzan".
Current Avatar: Me.
Current Saying: What do you mean it isn't enough being pretty? Have you seen my headshots?!?

re: closing?

I think he meant after Tarzan.

re: closing?

There are a lot of limited engagements currently running that will be closed by the end of the summer: DEUCE, FROST/NIXON, INHERIT THE WIND, and THE YEAR OF MAGICAL THINKING, for example.
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

I think we can safely say that Wicked is on it's last legs.

Maybe ACL?

re: closing?

ACL seems to be losing its flame. it started off pretty strong but it seems to be sinking. i went to a wed. matinee and basically the whole mez was empty
#7

re: closing?

Thursday night ACL was packed.
#8

re: closing?

I don't think ACL will be closing any time soon.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

re: closing?

spamalot?
spelling bee?
curtains?

how are these shows doing?
#10

re: closing?

Spamalot and Curtains are both doing fine.

I doesn't seem like Spelling Bee is.

Check the grosses.

re: closing?

I hate to say it (although I know it's been said before) but wha about Rent? Seeing that they're dragging back members of the OBC, I wouldn't be surprised if it's on its way out.
Call the understudy / I can't go on tonight / I'm drinking with my buddy / I'm getting good and tight / Before they raise the curtain I'll be higher than a kite / So call the understudy I can't go on tonight

re: closing?

I wouldn't be suprised if Rent closed in the next year.

re: closing?

I have a suspicion GG will close when Christine leaves.
Why, hello Margaret! Yes darling, half past five. Well, everyone, simply le tout Park Avenue and la creme de Hyannis! Well, the press table's going to be awfully crowded... but if you don't mind sharing a folding chair with Harper's Bazaar... Sing? Me? Heavens no, it's Edie's day, not mine... Although people can be so insistent, and I hate to disappoint. Twist my arm, blackmail me, threaten my very life, and who knows? You might get a verse of something...

re: closing?

That's likely (unfortunatley).

re: closing?

agreed.
rent is not doing well at all.
#16

re: closing?

Rent will run a little longer.
Company's going July 1st. (Sad.)
I think Grey Gardens will go come Labor Day unless it hits 75-85% capacity every week. Then I think it's safe till Thanksgiving time.

re: closing?

RENT closing... I nalways thought that was impossible, although it will within a year and a half.

re: closing?

Variety listed two shows with grosses that are faltering of late: HAIRSPRAY and RENT. Now, HAIRSPRAY is expected to get goosed when the film comes out but RENT may get evicted soon if it continues to fall below its stop clause.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

re: closing?

ACL already re-couped and has a tour in the works. It's not going anywhere anytime soon.
A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

re: closing?

well rent has been running for SO LONG. it just needs a little boost. maybe with anthny and adam coming back in it will bring them majorly up. it would be so sad to see this show leave bway

re: closing?

It's safe to say Hairspray has got a year and a half left AT LEAST. Movies work wonders- look at Rent, Phantom and the mother of all moddern musical movies...Chicago.

re: closing?

I don't get why everyone thinks Hairspray is doing so badly when Rent is selling -50%.
