Current Saying: What do you mean it isn't enough being pretty? Have you seen my headshots?!?

Posted: 6/23/07 at 12:21amI think he meant after Tarzan.

Posted: 6/23/07 at 12:26amThere are a lot of limited engagements currently running that will be closed by the end of the summer: DEUCE, FROST/NIXON, INHERIT THE WIND, and THE YEAR OF MAGICAL THINKING, for example.

Posted: 6/23/07 at 12:46amI don't think ACL will be closing any time soon.

Spamalot and Curtains are both doing fine.
I doesn't seem like Spelling Bee is.
Check the grosses.

Posted: 6/23/07 at 12:50amI hate to say it (although I know it's been said before) but wha about Rent? Seeing that they're dragging back members of the OBC, I wouldn't be surprised if it's on its way out.

Posted: 6/23/07 at 12:51amI wouldn't be suprised if Rent closed in the next year.

Posted: 6/23/07 at 12:52amI have a suspicion GG will close when Christine leaves.
#13re: closing?
Posted: 6/23/07 at 12:53amThat's likely (unfortunatley).

Rent will run a little longer.
Company's going July 1st. (Sad.)
I think Grey Gardens will go come Labor Day unless it hits 75-85% capacity every week. Then I think it's safe till Thanksgiving time.

Posted: 6/23/07 at 12:58amRENT closing... I nalways thought that was impossible, although it will within a year and a half.

Posted: 6/23/07 at 12:59amVariety listed two shows with grosses that are faltering of late: HAIRSPRAY and RENT. Now, HAIRSPRAY is expected to get goosed when the film comes out but RENT may get evicted soon if it continues to fall below its stop clause.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

It's safe to say Hairspray has got a year and a half left AT LEAST. Movies work wonders- look at Rent, Phantom and the mother of all moddern musical movies...Chicago.
