im going to be coming to nyc for a long weekend break! and as a student could anyone tell me where is cheap to stay? and how you can get verry cheap tickets for shows? i plan on seeing as many as i can.

During the holidays can be difficult as bargains can be harder to find.

Some shows have "rush" and others have lotteries which can save a lot of money.

Also, check www.travelzoo.com for hotel specials and www.broadwaybox.com for broadway discounts. And of course there is the TKTS booth in the middle of Times Square at up to 50% off tickets.

Also, for accommodations remember to check Tripadvisor to make sure you the place you are staying is clean and safe.

Being in NYC for the holiday season is terrific. But...

The hotel prices will be very high. The first two weeks of December especially and of course the week between Christmas and New Year's Eve.

The ticket prices are raised 50% to 75%.

You had better hope you can get a rush ticket.

The Riverside Towers Hotel used to be extremely affordable. Check there and see if they still are. Also sign up for TDF and you'll be able to get cheap seats to shows as long as you're flexible in what you want to see.
