I am going to the city next weekend...Saturday and Sunday. I will most likely see Vertical Hour on Sat. mat...Mary Poppins Sat. Evening...and on Sunday afternoon...i am choosing between Company or Grey Gardens...I will rush whichever one you guys suggest. Also, anything brilliant on Sunday evenings...i checked the BWW happening site, and it looks like i would choose between seeing Spring Awakening again, Translations or The Fantasticks...any recommendations for that one too?
Thanks so much!!

first off all, one of the shows you "want" to rush can't be rushed on the weekends companys rush is tues-thurs only. grey gardens rush is only for 1 ticket- so if you go with other people you'll still have to buy anotehr tix. try TKTS- they will both be there!
see SA.

Posted: 1/6/07 at 1:04pmOh man, my two favorite shows on Broadway right now! You'd be right with either of them, but I think Grey Gardens slightly edges out. Have fun!

Company has rush on weekends. The Talkin' Broadway listing is wrong... they should really change that.

That's a really tough decision as I love both of those shows, but I'd go with Grey Gardens.
The Fantasticks is wonderful as well.

Go with GREY GARDENS most definitely!
EDIT: I have also seen COMPANY, and much preferred G.G.

I'd choose Company over Grey Gardens- and I've seen them both.
And Spring Awakening gets even better seeing it again...

While they are both good, I would definitely suggest Grey Gardens. Not only is it an original piece, but you can see Christine Ebersole give one of the best performances on Broadway in recent years.

They're both amazing but I think you should go for Grey Gardens. Just to see Christine Ebersole's performance.
I do think however, the Company rush would be easier IMO.

What IS the Grey Gardens rush policy anyway? I want to see it soon.
And while I can't weigh in equitably, I do give Company my highest recommendation. Tough choice as the performances go, though; bjh's comment about how you can see one of the best performances on Broadway in recent memory could probably be just as well applied to Esparza's Bobby.

I never saw The Vertical Hour so I can't comment on the show.
And I liked Mary Poppins (except it is 3hrs long and there is a twisted toy scene which would not be appropriate for small children)
Personally though, I would see Grey Gardens, Company and Spring Awakening. The three best new shows this season. I also adored the Little Dog Laughed. Just my two cents.
If you had the time I would also see A Chorus Line. I went my second time tonight and it was breathtaking. It is one of the greatest shows of all time.

Vertical Hour - don't expect much from Julianne Moore, but some great master classes in acting from Nighy and Andrew Scott.
Company - You can't really go wrong with Sondheim, and this is a new, fresh, brilliant interpretation of an already incredible piece.
Grey Gardens is a fantastic show, but I think the performances definately excede the show by miles.
Spring Awakening is the Rent of the New Millennium (except better IMHO) and is not to be missed.
Four really good shows, Vertical Hour being the least, but still excellent theatre all around.
