i wouldn't say that Emmy is a filler. as others said, there were many individuals who had performances worthy of being nominated, so there had to be some reason why she was nominated.

I think it's more that they felt obligated because she was in a musical as opposed to a comedy which they had plenty of.

And maybe once you have waisted your money on this movie you will understand why those of us who have seen it are irked by those who haven't seen it but go on and sing its praises and offer congragulations on its ridiculous nominations.

You haven't seen it. So what do you attribute your comment too about Emmy not being a filler? Because I have seen it; and she is dull in this movie. So.. explain please. How does someone that has not seen the movie make a comment like that?

zepka's right- No, I haven't seen it, so I can't say whether it is incredible, or whether it's horrible! But I do know that I love the soundtrack, and emmy, patrick, and minnie, so I have every right to congratulate them, and be happy for their nominations. Whatever happened to people being allowed to have personal opinions, and show support for musicals, etc. they enjoyed?

I can't wait for the movie! And while I've heard from many people that it isn't good, I still love the story, the music, everything. We'll see, we'll see. But I have a gander that I'm going to enjoy it.

i didn't say that she deserved it or not. i said there had to be some reason that they decided to nominate her over other performances. but i think it's allowed that i can be happy for her.

Of course zepka. I totally agree with you there. The nomination is cool! And while I can't say that it's wonderful to be nominated over other people because in some cases, the win is not deserved..I'm not talking about her I mean just for some people COUGHCOUGHmrsdiggsCOUGHCOUGH
but this isn't about her, this is about Emmy, and I think she'll do great in the movie!

Of course your allowed to be happy for people you like getting some recognition. maybe I justwasn't expressing myself correctly. But I guess I am just weird; I just wish these nominations were really in recognition of good work as opposed to fanatisism. Once you have seen it I look forward to reading your opinion.

and i promise i will be as honest as i can be. i'm not here to start a war about it or anything. i just think we should wait until it opens to find out for sure. you can bet i'll be there opening day and i'll get my review up as soon as possible

I'm sure Phantom will win all the techinical awards come Oscars, I think they'll get a picture nom, but I highly doubt it'll get any acting or the director nom.
