I saw RENT for the third time this past weekend. Will Chase played Roger and he was utterly fantastic! His acting and singing was impeccable. Unfortunately, he was only a replacement for one month, and Sunday was his last show.
As far as the rest of the cast in comparison to others I have seen on Broadway, they seemed to be going through the motions, but they really didn't give the heart and soul performances I witnessed previously. The rest of the audience seemed to like it well enough, but then again, a lot of the audience was made up of very young children...one of the results of the movie RENT.
Both my companion and I were disappointed with the current cast, except for the fabulous Will Chase.
