Almost everyone who comes across DHP is consistent in describing a very positive experience, which obviously as a webmaster of his website I find understandable.
But the comment made by one guy above is also interesting - about the ease and grace with which he's maintained a great deal of privacy in his life, despite being in an enormously high profile TV show and now a star on Broadway. He makes it seem effortless, but I think it probably isn't because so many other celebrities fail at it so miserably.
Any thoughts on how he's achieved such a good and healthy balance? - Good to his fans, always pleasant and open, but still very private and dignified.
Is he still taking time off since the show is now closing in June?
He actually cut his vacation short and only missed four performances rather than a whole week, so no, he won't be out until the show closes.

I think MOST actors IF THEY CHOOSE to can lead a relatively quiet life. They don't lead a lifestyle that begs to be monitored or is embarrasing. If he started bar hopping and getting pulled over for drunk driving (etc, etc) the press/papparazzi would be all over him too!
That being said: isn't it nice to find a star that has enough respect for themselves to live that kind of life? We don't notice them enough for it.
That is very true. I have a couple of friends in LA who have done pretty well on TV. There are less than 20 restaurants/bars/clubs in LA where you are GUARANTEED to get photographed and my friends don't go to them. Most of the celebs you see in trash magazines shunning the paparazzi went to those places so that they could be photographed shunning the paparrazi.
These days, it's just a part of marketing.

Isn't that the ultimate sadness - going out to be photographed avoiding photographers!? What total inner emptiness there must be.
I think it's so cool that on Broadway most stars are free to walk the streets, go to restaurants, do normal everyday stuff.
