I used to miss out on so much because my friends were so anal about even leaving the county let along the state. One day I just decided that I wasn't going to let them hold me back anymore.
And having friends can be something of a downer at times. For example, a friend of mine and I went to see a show this past fall. I had wanted to go to the stage door of a different show afterward because another friend of mine had hinted at wanting a signed cast album for her birthday. I figured I could take care of it while I was in the city. Bzzz, wrong. My friend had made plans with another friend for that evening so we had to hurry home. I ended up having to come back the next day to get the CD signed.
And you never really feel "alone". At least I don't. The only time I ever felt that way was this past Sunday at Up at the Zipper. I think that was because most of the audience seemed to be close friends and family of the cast and composers. But otherwise I never feel self-conscious about being by myself. It's a great experience. I can think of plenty of things I'd have totally missed out on had I waited for my friends to have "time". And I'm glad I got to see those shows. Really glad.

We must have different Gods. My God said "do to others what you would have them do to you". Your God seems to have said "My Way or the Highway".
