March 12th, I believe, is the last day according to siteforrent.com
And I agree on the picture-- it made me think, before I knew who he was playing, that he had to be Roger! (albeit a small Roger, that is, I couldn't see him as Roger from his looks-- i'd see him as mark from his face, but that pic made me think roger...)
And I can't wait for Anthony's most triumphant return in the film either....

woohoo! march 13th baby, i'm all over tickets
yeah i know...i'm so nervous for the movie, but it'll be worth it to see (some of) the obc cast! has anyone seen the scripts for the movie that they've put on the internet? one of the versions actually has jonathan larson as a character in it...it seemed kind of cheesy and i'm really worried that it might get into the film!

yeah...it was odd...they had the scene where tom collins calls mark and roger (chesnuts roasting...) and they have jonathan standing off in the distance watching collins...i guess its trying to show how jonathan got his "inspiration"...i think i found the think on compulsivebowlers.com

I thought it might be part of the footage that they showed on the recent Broadway series on PBS. Where it showed Jonathan at his job making his "last" milkshake right before RENT took off.
And in case anyone was unsure Drew does wear the standard Mark attire (scarf and all) during RENT. I am not sure why they have the picture of him without the shirt(especially in December). Wait, I take that back..... I do know why they did it but it does give one a different impression of the show.

so scared to think of who they'll come up with next!

Has anybody noticed Drew's speech impediment? He sounds like he is choking on his own tounge when he is "singing". Has he heard of annunciation?

I saw him three weeks ago, and he wasn't the worst stunt casting ever, but he was mediocre at best. I just didn't get anything out of his Mark. I think hes leaving around the middle of March. I'm pretty sure Matt Caplan is taking over for him.

bjivie, drew's last day is the 12th, therefore many tickets will be bought the day after...
yes he has serious diction issues, and he just made the character of mark completely different...at first i was like okay, he's making mark his own...but then i realized it's just not acting! and it doesn't make any sense for him to be all cool and calm, and then all of a sudden attempt all this emotional "passion" in what you own...i don't get it
and i've never seen matt and i've always heard such good things so i hope he takes over!!!

Matt Caplan is amazing. He's the quintessential Mark.

Yay! Drew will be gone when I'm in NY. What the heck were they thinking putting him in as Mark?!?!
I saw Matt last time I saw the show and thought he was a perfect Mark, so I hope he takes over.

Drew's last day is supposed to be March 12th.
And it's not that Drew makes the show hurt - it's just not as GOOD without Matt Caplan. I've seen the show with Matt twice and with Drew twice. Matt is obviously better. I wouldn't refuse to see it with Drew because it's still RENT - Matt as Mark is usually just an added bonus for me.
And yes, Matt will be returning as Mark just as soon as Drew is done. According to him, anyway.

Matt's just been in that role too long. Maybe I should give him another chance, though.

I've seen RENT only once, and that was back in April with Matt Caplan... I thought he was awesome, even though I didn't really have much to compare to, besides the OBCR. My friend won RENT lotto and said that Drew was okay. Judging from the Broadway on Broadway performance though... hmmm.
