Above all people you shouldn't be calling anything 'dumb'
1.) "The Phantom Fugue" from Maury Yeston's Phantom.
2.) "The Arbiter" from Chess (Great music though. I just love how a Chess arbiter has a roaring rock ballad. It's like a librarian singing ACDC.)
3.) "The Night Was Alive" - Titanic
4.) "Shipoopi" - The Music Man (Hilarious song though)
But I still love all these songs because they make me laugh. Can't take them seriously though.

If anyone has ever heard "big, The Musical" (Which I wouldn't be surprised if no one has)... the opening song goes:
"I wish I knew what's happening to me... she's just a girl i've known since i'm four..."
...SINCE I'M FOUR?! That isn't even proper English!

Man, I miss that worst lyrics thread! Even though someone brought up Jane Eyre lyrics when they were taken right from the novel. :/

Ive got tears coming outta my nose --> legally blonde
sorry if youre a fan....
people always attack the "dit dit da dit da dit" part. I don't know why. it works for me. what do they want? the telegraph machine to come to life and sing "be our guest" with exploding champagne bottles all around?
"your like a child" Now, if you had just made it "you're," you would no longer have a fragment.
I love the "God, I'm a dancer, a dancer dances," lyric. I don't see why people don't get that line. She's coming back to all she really knows. I think it's a terrific statement.
Fabrizio, chill out. No one's calling you dumb.
And I, also, love "God, I'm a dancer, a dancer dances." It's very, "This is who I am, and that's why this is what I need to be doing with my life."
If anyone's heard the Legally Blonde demo... I crack up every time to this line, because it's so dumb (but I love it in context of the show... sometimes dumb is okay!)
"Dear Elle, he's a lucky guy
I'm, like, gonna cry
I've got tears comin' out of my nose!"
Tears coming out of her nose? Hahahaha. That's intense.
hahahahha movieguy, that's a great one.

"we've all got our junk, and my junk is you"
"where I go....when I go there..."
both from Spring Awakening.
don't get me wrong... I absolutely adore the music and fully intend on seeing it on broadway... just those lyrics make me cringe a bit.

yeah, its funny, as much as I ADORE Spring Awakening, some of the lyrics, when you take them out of context and just think about what they actually are, are pretty silly.
My Junk is one of them- just, the use of the word "junk" in general is silly. haha. Again, dont get me wrong, I absolutely ADORE the song beyond belief!
Same with Totally F*CKed. One of the most amazing moments of a show I've ever seen (just as far as where its placed and everything... its such a release and its perfect), but I mean really "blah blah blah blah blah blah blah"? way to like.. not have any good lyrics so you just fill it with "blah blah"s lol. Again though, that TOTALLY does not matter within the show, because you're just so wrapped up in it you could care less what the lyrics are
You don't have to apologize for disliking the lyrics, snl89. You don't need to explain yourself, either. So what if the show is beloved on these boards?

haha oh I know, I actually was justifying it more for myself than anyone else lol :) I love the show so much, and I really DONT feel like the lyrics make it any worse, so I just felt bad saying it without justifying it also
