does anyone have any information to get into the character and/or accent of Sally Bowles from Cabaret? i have an audition on Tuesday and I have to read and sing "Cabaret" for my director. i've read in another post that theres many variations of an English accent, so does anyone know a good or "correct" one for Sally Bowles? thanksss a bunch..
i can use all of the help i can.
I like Natasha's the best - which was natural....
A well educated Home Counties accent.

One thing to consider:
I've heard the song done with a sepeaate "character voice" for when she quotes "Elsie". When Sally sings:
I THINK OF ELSIE TO THIS VERY DAY
I REMEMBER HOW SHE'D TURN TO ME AND SAY:
Sally would then affect a more low class "cockney" accent for
WHAT GOOD IS SITTING ALONE IN YOUR ROOM
COME HEAR THE MUSIC PLAY
LIFE IS A CABARET OLD CHUM
COME TO THE CABARET
She would then go back to her normal "Sally" accent.
