Posted: 10/5/03 at 9:59pmI definitely plan to see it. I know a lot of people hate the show, but I saw it at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center and loved it! And the man who played Nick Piazza when I saw it is reprising his role Off Broadway. I can't wait to see it!

And just for clarification...the most recent FAME tour, the New tour (a Non-Equity version), and the upcoming NYC production...are all different productions (though some same people are involved throughout...)
I saw the most recent tour, and hope to see the newest tour soon...enjoy everyone

Posted: 10/6/03 at 11:03amHmm...I don't know. People know Fame, and it is a favorite movie, so it may sell tickets because of that- and it is in New York for the first time. However, some theatergoers know the show and hate it, so they won't waste their time. Overall, I think it will have a decent run.

Posted: 10/6/03 at 3:22pmI'm with WSS2 on this one. Worst. Show. Ever. And not in a good way. Insulting script. (Spoiler: She dies before graduation!) Don't go. DON'T!!!

I like it, but it is pretty dull. I can tell you the whole show right now:
They pray they all get accepted and the do.
People fall in love.
Latino girl (carmen) becomes a stripper/prostitute.
Tyrone can't graduate.
Carmen dies.
Sad graduation.
And then a happy ending where Carmen comes back from the dead.
Did I miss anything?

I've got a funny FAME audition story. You probably remember the big open call they had at the theatre last month, well even though im more of a singer/actress than a dancer I decided to go. When I showed up at 8am there was one kid in a fold out chair. Myself and two girls just showing up were going wow it's so weird no one is here yet etc... so we wait about 15 mins then this guy pulls out a flyer saying the audition is the NEXT MORNING at 9am. We all took off in disbelief that anyone would camp out for an entire day. I want to be on Broadway someday but there are some things I just won' do
lol

Posted: 10/6/03 at 7:44pmi felt like their auditions were for american idol...cameras and having to sign TV wavers..the other day the cast was outside the LS in costume..they all looked like they were going to party at the Culture Club in some bad 80s clothing from Urban Outfitters. Thankfully i get to see this one for free.
