Thats too bad...
My question is, why do they need a trap door for Fiddler?
#5re: fiddler cast getting injured?
Posted: 11/26/04 at 2:01pmThe trap door is used during the nightmare scene when Frumah Sarah (sp) and other gouls (ha, I love that word) come out to scare Golda. I feel horrible for Nancy. She's a great person and the show needs her spunk (ew, I hate that word).

Posted: 11/26/04 at 2:03pmWow..I wonder who is responsible for the trap door during the show? Sounds like someone is asleep on the job.

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.
I think they need a new trap door operator...

Posted: 11/26/04 at 5:08pmI feel bad for her, that sucks! But, contrary to what someone said above, I think the show can go on without her - I hated her performance.

Posted: 11/26/04 at 8:45pmAlthough I'm sorry to learn of Nancy Opel's accident, I have to agree with M-Strap. Her performance as Yente is the worst performance I have ever seen on Broadway, and that includes Marian Seldes in DEATHTRAP.

Posted: 11/26/04 at 10:48pmTrap doors are tricky. It depends on the type of trap, really. In The Frogs, for example, the trap door was open during the larger production numbers (the Frogs) and one of the frogs was "blocked" to be in front of it really to keep the other actors away and to keep the audience from being distracted by the large hole in the stage (at least, that's how it was with Nathan's trap). There is also someone under the stage helping Nathan get into place so that as it rises he doesn't get stuck, and there are cameras and everything under there but the stage manager can't see everythingn on prompters so the guy under the stage and Nathan have to thumbs up it. That night it didn't go so well. The other trap in the stage was a high-speed trap that shot a frog out of it once and that was totally different. I don't know what the one in Fiddler is like. But chances are it was just a series of unfortunate events- maybe an actor who was supposed to block it was in the wrong place or, as it sometimes happens, perhaps the door malfuncioned and didn't close as often happed with the donut revolve on the frogs. anything's possible. That's sad for N.O. hope she gets better :)

Posted: 11/27/04 at 12:12amAmy, your right, she probably IS crying! Because, you know, that was my whole intention when I made that post. I knew she'd read it. Question: why do you feel the need to make atleast one jackass comment a week on something I write? F*ck off.

Posted: 11/27/04 at 12:36amYou should count your blessings you have somebody to mirror your behavior back to you 'strap. Otherwise you would just be a stark raving narcissist with absolutely NO idea why you alienate people.
#23re: fiddler cast getting injured?
Posted: 11/27/04 at 1:20amI agree that this is a growing menace. I think it is our duty to work to wipe out TDRI (Trap Door-Related Injury) in our lifetime.

Posted: 11/27/04 at 1:58amI expected a pointless, angry Namo post right after Archer. Let's see how long it takes for Sueleen to get over here. Why do you keep saying that I make angry, nasty, posts all the time and "alienate" people. I don't believe I do that, and if any of my opinions alienate You, because obviously you feel so strongly about me being rude, then i'm sorry but if my opinion alienates someone, tough ****. Where do you get your logic from? I dont get it.
