hi there! I very much need help finding a monologue for acting class, it can be comedic or dramatic. My age range is 14-17, and I want it to be from a play or musical! thanks so much <3

Advice from my Acting Teacher when I was in High School

1. Go to your local library

2. Get a huge stack of plays.

3. Skim them until you see a monologue (big sections of uninterrupted text, you can't miss them)

4. Read the monologue and see if it speaks to you.

5. If it does, read the rest of the play.

6. Enjoy your new monologue

male or female?

comedic or serious?

contemporary or classical?

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I forgot to state that I'm a female, and I don't mind if it's comedic or dramatic, and preferably contemporary!

I don't have the play in front of me but August Osage County has a few  that Jean does that are comedic and dramatic. She is supposed to be 14 tho ( an overly sophisticated 14)

I know it's a little out of the age range you mentioned but Una's 6.5 page monologue in 'Blackbird' is heartbreaking and dramatic. Michelle Williams delivered it superbly last year.
