I've only seen RENT once and it was the tour it wasn't in NYC. I was worried before I went that the voices would sound so much different from the OBC Recording. But everyone I saw was AMAZING. I thought Dan Rosenbaum was an amazing Roger, I really love his voice.
I was wondering, someone who has seen RENT on tour and on broadway, is it better to see it on broadway or does it matter?

Posted: 4/3/05 at 1:23amI loved Dominique Roy as Mimi. The best one I have seen.

Posted: 4/3/05 at 3:33amI saw Dominique a few times as Mimi. She was very good, but I liked my first Mimi (Sharon Leal, who was the music teacher on Boston Public) quite a bit better.

"so today at the saturday matinee was the first time i ever saw RENT and let me tell you its so much better than wicked"
????That's like comparing apples to oranges. They are so totally differnet from each other, that in my opinion the only thing they share that is the same is that they are musicals currently on Broadway.
I could see comparing Oklahoma say, and Showboat......but RENT and Wicked.......makes no sense.

Posted: 4/3/05 at 1:26pmWicked was my favorite musical until Rent came along. I know they are really different one is fantasy and the other is real life.

Well, there are similar vocal requirements. It's not completely different -- say, comparing 110 in the Shade to Dance of the Vampires or something.
