"Picture "The View," with the wisecracking, sympathetic sweethearts of that ABC television show replaced by a panel of embittered, suffering or enraged Arab women" -the Times review of Black Eyed

Many of my favourite quotes come from three people; 1. Winston Churchil, 2. Samuel Goldwyn, 3. Fred Allen

Allen was just hilarious, like 'Suburbia is where developers demolish trees and then name the streets after them', and 'Celerities wear sunglasses even in churches, in case God recognises them and asks for an autograph'.

I also like this one from Churchill;

Random Lady: Sir, if you were my husband I'd put arsenic in your drink.
Churchill: Madam, if you were my wife, I'd drink it.

The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

Derek Mahon

"Maybe all one can do is hope to end up with the right regrets."

Arthur Miller

"Education is a wonderful thing, provided you remember that nothing worth knowing can ever be taught." Oscar Wilde
I'm not sure if that's from one of his shows, but it fits the moment.

thank you for your quotes...but maybe i wasn't that clear...i really don't want it to be related to school in anyway......the ones i was thinking of were
"don't bring around a cloud to rain on my parade"
"fill my heart with song and let me sing forever more"
....but i would love more to choose from that were from musicals
thanks

Ooh, you ought to make the clear. Generally when people ask for senior quotes on this board (it happens every year), they want them related to musicals/theatre, but to be very inspirational and related to their 'journey.'

Anyways, how about some of these, if you want fun?

"Without love, life is [insert any line from the song]" (Hairspray)
"Life is random and unfair; life is pandemonium." (Spelling Bee)
"Far from skid row, I dream I'll go somewhere that's green." (Little Shop)
"You never know 'till you reach the top if it was worth the uphill climb." (Avenue Q)
"If I hold you, there's one problem you should know; if I hold you, I might not ever let you go." (Wedding Singer)
"You all match!" (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels... just kidding)

Not to threadjack...but I saw a yearbook once with a kid named Oscar Mayer. His quote was "Everybody loves my weiner."

I definitely like the two you were thinking of, but I've got nothing to add. re: good quotes?

"Imagination is the one weapon in the war against reality."

I dunno who said it, though. re: good quotes?
