wow, you guys really don't know how much this is helping me!! i'm so excited to audition...i can't wait!! but of course, at the same time it is rather daunting seeing as i come from central vermont..yeah - not the most active place on earth. but i do what i can here and enjoy the chances i get.
you have all been sooo awesome, and it's really great to have a place to chat with people about broadway stuff!! bway fans are SERIOUSLY lacking in VT!!!!

Hey, I'm new to the board, but just thought I'd throw in my two cents. How about "When the tall man talks" from Whoop-Up. It's not lightning fast, but it's up-tempo.It's got some good belter notes you can wrap your chords around, and throw down with.
"My new philosophy"
"GIrl in 14 G"
I guess you can't do "therapy" on your own :)

"If" by Jule Styne from Two on the Aisle
"If They Could See me Now" from Sweet Charity (not too comedic but a terrific song that's "up" and under-done. good luck!

isn't it too bad i can't do therapy?? that song cracks me up!!!!
try "Way out West on West End Avenue" from 'Babes in Arms' it's an old Rogers and Hart song which is best when belted. And the lyrics are absolutely hilarious! Good luck!

How fast paced, because "I am not getting married" from Comapany is very funny and its a good one to show off articulation and breathing!
Obviously i dont sing it myself but my friend doe sit amazingly im sure you could have a try!
'Getting Married Today' would be another Sondheim, though.
Plus, if she ended up doing two Sondheims, 'Another Hundred People' is much more age appropriate than 'Getting Married Today'
Plus it is a better "show off your belt voice" song, which I think is what she's looking for...
