Hi everyone!
I'm currently in a production of Beauty and the Beast, and I would like to wear my hair like Sutton Foster's wig in Little Women during "astonishing":
hair advice

If someone has the time to give me a somewhat step by step, that would rock! THANKS!

i know NOTHING about hair, but from the loks of the pic, i would say:
1. curl your hair (with curlers prolly for that type of curl)
2. pull the sides back and fasten it with bobby pins
3. use a lot of hairspray

wish i could be of more help, but this is coming from a girl who has been in one show. this is just me throwing it out there in case you dont know what to do and youre really in a jam. hope i helped, wish i could be of more help!

I say get hot rollers(gah!) & roll the back of your hair with the largest possible roller. Leave them in as long as you can. Take them out and brush through your hair. Using, I would assume, two barettes, pull back the top of your hair. Use a medium round brush to shape those ringlet banana curls. They should hold better because of the hot rollers. You may need to touch up with a large curling iron. Then spray the hell out of it!

isn't this just a tad off topic?

"...But Kungurtseva reels off multiple fouettes and the tape is stopped so she can take a bow. The Jester, an abomination introduced to Swan Lake in Soviet times, extorts applause from the audience. The cuts don't help the storytelling, the production is bare bones and they go for the '50s-style happy ending. The audience cheers like mad at the end. It's the Russian ballet, after all..."

I've done my hair like that tons of times, and it really is pretty easy.

Curl your hair with a curling iron (you can divide it into sections to make it easier), but instead of trapping the hair and then winding it around the barrel that way, take a small section of hair, open the iron and manually wrap the hair around. Then close it and hold it for a few seconds (depending on your curler it can be anywhere for 5 to 30). While you're holding it, mist it with hairspray. Then gently loosen it from the barrel and voila -- a lovely curl. Now do it to the rest of your head (it takes a lot of patience and it can be difficult to do the back, so it might be good to have somebody help you with that).

Once all of your hair is curled, take a few curls from the front section on one side of your head and secure it with bobby pins (more if there's a lot of hair). Then hairspray it some more. Do the same to the other side, and you're good!

Good luck!
