has a TV show ever been turned into a Broadway show (musical or play)? The Golden Girls perhaps....

Only a matter of time before a Sex and The City musical is attempted.
It would actually be quite entertaining to listen to songs like;
Carrie's Interlude
Ode to An Orgasm
Faking it Bed 101
Carrie's Interlude (Reprise)
He's Called Mr.Big For a Reason etc.
I imagine a split-staged multiple sex scene song is also in order.

This is my ideal cast for a musical of The Golden Girls:
Blanche - Bernadette Peters
Rose - Christine Ebersole
Dorothy - Beth Leavel
Sophia - Mary Louise Wilson

Saved By The Bell: THE MUSICAL!! Come on! I'd love to see 'Jesse' sing "I'm so excited. I'm so excited. I'm so... sCaReD!" live on stage.
Seriously though... I love the Golden Girls. I don't know how successful it would be if the series was somehow turned into a full-fledged musical but I'd go see it. And forget the Red Hat ladies. Can you imagine how many gay guys would be lining up for tickets each night?

zamdey- Some friends of mine musicalized that episode for a project in college.
And there is video of the performance for the queen. I saw clips of it on one of the girls' Intimate Portraits. I'm not if you will be able to find the cilps anywhere.

We have to think out of the box. How about a musical version of "Antiques Roadshow"?
Now THAT has potential!
