my parents are taking me to new york for my b-day (may 19-21). they have never been, i have been five or six times.
what shows would be best to see?
my mom said she wants to see "Phantom" (even though we JUST saw it in Dallas and she has tix for June in Vegas) and "Jersey Boys". i of course think those are horrible choices. my dad really could care less.
i would want to see "Piazza", "Sweeney", "3Penny", "Lt of Inishmore", "Drowsy", but i dont think any of those would be of interest to my folks.
they get, through their investment company, 2 free tickets to a show, there's a list but i think "Jersey Boys" is on it.
now i know we don't have to see everything together, i know they could see what they want and i could see what i want - but it would be more special if we did this vacation thing as a family unit.
any suggestions?
and since it's a fairly truncated trip they don't really want to go to any museums - i was SHOCKED! out of these: met, moma, whitney, guggenheim, nat. history which one or two would be the MUST visit? if i had my way i'd go to em all.
See "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels." You will all love it.
See Jersey Boys.
we're seeing "DRS" in Dallas in October - i saw it in NY in Novemeber, so thats a no.
Re the museums: If you only have time for two, go see the Moma and Met unless the Guggenheim has a specific collection of great interest to you.
Oh, and Jersey Boys is really fun.
