help me spend my money on recordings...

i apologize for yet another thread on which recording to buy- there are almost as many of these as there are wicked threads help me spend my money on recordings.... but i really would like some help/advice...haha for easter i got a bunch of money for itunes and would like to purchase a new broadway recording! these are the ones i have:
YAGMCB (revival)
aida
camelot
tick tick boom
fiddler (olc)
the last 5 years
millie
producers
godspell
the who's tommy
south pacific
avenue q
wicked
rent
phantom of the opera
les mis
hairspray
bye bye birdie
west side story
bklyn
gypsy (obc & revival)
*edit* into the woods (obc) i forgot to add it..

my favorite show is the last 5 years, along with rent and tick tick boom. any suggestions would be much appreciated...sorry again for yet another post.

If your favorite show is The Last 5 Years, you NEED to get Songs for a New World. And also Lauren Kennedy Sings Jason Robert Brown. You'll LOVE them!

Hmmmm, well you have a good sampling of the new (AIDA, Millie, Wicked, The Producers), and a bit of the older or "golden" (Gypsy, Camelot, South Pacific). Why not pick some shows from composers that are not yet represented in your collection? Some suggestions might be:

Kander & Ebb: Chicago, The Rink, Cabaret, Kiss of the Spider Woman
Jerry Herman: Mame; Hello, Dolly!; La Cage Aux Folles
Cole Porter: Can-Can, Kiss Me Kate, Anything Goes
Cy Coleman: Sweet Charity, Little Me, City of Angels
Stephen Sondheim: Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, Into The Woods, Company
Harold Arlen: Saratoga, St. Louis Woman, House of Flowers, The Wizard of Oz
Rodgers & Hart: Pay Joey, The Boys From Syracuse, Babes In Arms
Frank Loesser: How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Guys and Dolls, The Most Happy Fella
Irving Berlin: Annie Get Your Gun, Call Me Madam

Well, not to spend money on, but you should download the bare: a pop opera sampler cd. Just go to their official website and fill out the survey and its eleven tracks free. And so good. yay!

Alrighty, just a couple suggestions:

Miss Saigon(OLC)--if you have and like Les Miz and POTO this is the one missing from your collection, it's one of my favorite CDs that I never get tired of and it has beautiful music

Chicago(I have movie version but you could pick whatever)-just great music and great songs

Jekyll & Hyde-I have OBC I know others I liked better but again really great and passionate music

LSOH-I recommend the movie soundtrack, I think the overall performances are best on that, just some people will recommend the others b/c it's missing some songs, but this is still my recommendation.

Once On This Island(OBC)-one of my fav CDs, again just fantastic music for a sleeper show hit
