Ohh Randal is amazing, I saw him a few times on Broadway and the only time I saw the tour. He's one of my favorite JVJ's.

And hang on, when did you win the discus?

He's the only one I have ever seen. I wish I had a recording of him.

QUESTION!!!

Which Les Mis recording should Zoran buy? He has the OLC and hates it.

Never got to see Urinetown (BUMMER!!)
But I have noticed folks are mentioning newer shows, how many people have seen A Chorus Line on B-Way? That was my first.

>> I thought MAN OF LaMANCH had no intermission

It doesn't.

I guess I must be in a somewhat unique position, because between seeing B'way shows from when I was still a kid growing up in Texas and having an aunt who was determined I was gonna grow up "cultchad", I've seen almost all the big hits over the years. And maybe my tastes have become more severe over the years, but a lot of the blockbusters - like Cats, Les Miz, Phantom and one whose name I dare not mention lest the entire wrath of the board descend - have left me cold. The last truly enjoyable evening I had at the theatre in NY? Bombay Dreams, because I went into it with no expectations and, as a result, had a blast. But a show like (not naming names) came in with massive hype and was, as a result, a huge letdown.

But the one show I never saw and wished I had? The original Company. I've seen the black and white tape at the Library of the Performing Arts, but it's just not the same.

Zoran-

Buy the Triple Disc Complete Symphonic Recording. It has pretty much ever part of the show on it, and some great performances.

Mominator: though not my first B'way show, ACL was the first show I saw multiple times. I remember the closing date being extended over and over and each time I had to go, just in case I would never be able to see it again. I also remember the tickets being around $10 or so (probably through TDF) - how's that for a laugh.
I was lucky to catch the Papermill Playhouse's production a couple of years ago and it was absolutely perfect. Every head tilt, every mannerism was as I remember it AND the original B'way cast was there as invited guests in the audience. It was amazing!!!!!!!

I am almost ashamed to say I missed Assassins and Taboo - especially since I am a huge Raul fan and even drove to DC to catch his Sunday in the Park with George.
