That the last two weeks of rent, the OBC is coming back?!? I am a huge renthead who hasn't had access to a computer! Someone I met on a train said that she thought she heard it. Can anyone comfirm this rumor?

How do we know its gonna close in June.
I look at it this way
Declan leaves May 4th
New Roger (Will Chase) comes in May5th
he only will play 34 performances b4 June 1st.
I feel that its weird for them to bring someone in for less than a month.
Not to mention a summer Without Rent means a dark theater for the summer and it can make more money if it stays through the summer with the touriest coming in.

Will Chase? Where are you getting this from?

How does "b4 June" [sic] equal "after June 1st"?

That I see.
For the record, there is a legitimate chance of an extension. It's just that his theories for it -- and his premature certainty -- don't apply.

Posted: 3/23/08 at 12:02pmWell, while I can't say anything about the whole cast, I can say that at an Idina Menzel interview, someone asked about her returning to Rent by the end...she said that no one asked her, but that she wouldn't do it anyway. (She mentioned forgetting all the lines at Rent 10 the last time she did it, that cracked me up). So no, the entire OBC is not coming back.

There is also a legitimate chance an astroid may hit the earth.
Just sayin'

Well, at the very least, I haven't taken what I was told and convinced myself that it's definite.
But, much like Rent won't extend just because coolkid wants it to, it won't not extend just because you don't want it to. Whatever happens will happen.

Posted: 3/23/08 at 1:27pmit is extending until August 24th, but tickets are not on sale yet.
#18re: is it true??
Posted: 3/23/08 at 1:37pmIf an extension actually happens, I'd feel pretty bad for all of those people who paid a ton of money for June 1st tickets on ebay.

Posted: 3/23/08 at 2:11pmcoolkid, where was it even announced that Will Chase is the new Roger? I just googled & there is nothing about it. Please get your facts straight, you do this on the guilty ones too.

I think the Will Chase thing is not announced officially but it's definitely the rumor going around.
Also, buying tickets on Ebay isn't exactly the smartest thing to do, so I don't really feel bad for the people who shelled out thousands of dollars for mezz seats.

Posted: 3/23/08 at 5:41pmI just searched eBay for Rent "final performance" tickets out of curiosity, and saw that someone is selling 4 tickets for the rear mezz for...get this...$8,900! I'm sorry, but no show is worth that much even with a dream cast! Especially for the rear mezz.

Posted: 3/23/08 at 6:14pmActually, I would not be surprised at all if RENT extends. RENT has been doing quite well since the announcement. It's surpassed several shows this week, and isn't embarrassingly small on the grosses charts as it once was. So, I think the extending has a good chance of happening. I feel bad for the people who didn't care to think about this fact and spent thousands on a crappy seat. I'd just hate to be them when (and if) they announce the closing.
