re: it was a Perfectally Marvelous show, with a not so marvelous Emcee...

We had this production for a week at the Palace a few months back and have to say it was pretty average (i think the Manchester Evening News gave it 2 stars) and did not come close to thew Mendes production.

Samantha has a great voice and was not bad at acting but she was just way to young and it showed, Wayne Sleep i agree should be shot or banned from musicals, he was so bad.
Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna

I loved the West End revival with the original cast, Anna Maxwell Martin was a brilliant Sally. Yes her voice wasnt as strong but her acting more than made up for it. The set was good and the choreography was suburb. Raw, sexy, dirty...loved it.

The tour didnt live up to the West end version (why change choreography?!) and also im not sure why the London set couldnt tour. Sam as Sally as SADM says she was too young, but you know what, her voice was so strong you could get past it. I saw it very early on in the tour and hear her acting has vastly improved

The Donmar version im actually not a massive fan of, it was good but I just feel its over hyped.

I completely agree with Princeton2 that the choreography was better in London, but the tour seemed a lot simpler, simpler choreography suited.

Thanks for the reviews! I saw the West End production twice, the first time with Amy Nuttall and the understudy for the Emcee and was plesantly surprised. It's one of my favourites, and having seen a naughty copy of the Donmar production was worried. I later saw Julian Clary in the Emcee role and was really disapointed. Not wanting to be disappointed again I haven't booked for Cardiff, I'm would now have been swayed to see it again but I'm going to Stratford this week so I'll miss it.
