Not that I was aware of. There were a number of people I didn't know there, so it's possible. There was an older couple that left during one of the nasty songs. I felt bad! But it's pretty clear on my publicity materials and that TB review that my show is VERY R Rated--that Cherry Jones quote says it ALL. I guess it's kinda funny, too. And, if you are going to cover controversial/nasty stuff, it comes with the territory. I hope they at least paid Dannys for their drinks!
It was a fantastic show. We had so much fun last night. And, I had a lot of friends and friends of friends there, so the love was flowing. :)
I'm very happy with this show. I would love to do it again in NYC, but I'm not sure when and where. I KNOW people will love it if they would just give it a chance. I had many people telling me, "I was so afraid I would be bored". Because as I say in the show, the three most dreaded phrases are
"You are being audited."
"You have 3 months to live"
"Come see my cabaret!"
But, I don't think of this as strictly cabaret--it's theatre. And, if ANYTHING, I had one effing incredible band.
There is a huge chance, I will be doing the show in Houston in August. That's all up in the air as I have to figure out the logistics of mounting a show 1600 miles away. But, it's VERY likely.
We'll see what happens. When I figure out the my next step--I'll let you guys know.
Thank you again to those of you who showed up. Thank you to those who have given me much love and support on here. Thank you to the boys at Sunset & 42nd for their support and generous exposure.
And, I'm SPENT!
