has anyone seen the current cast?
was debating taking a friend who has never seen it, and if anyone has any thoughts on the current cast, i'd greatly appreciate it.

It might have had to do visas.
Also, she left everything... including her dog Jack. Maybe she didn't want to be away to long.

Quick catch up on Kerry:
Started as a Stand-By for Idina Menzel when Wicked opened in London a few years ago, after Idina's quick stint of a few months, she took over and has been starring since the beginning of 2007. In June this year she has a brief contract transfer to Broadway, left NYC earlier this month and continues playing Elphaba on Monday (1st December) and will play out till her contract ends at the beginning of May (2nd I think).
So in short, she's done it for ages and had quick transfer to perform on Broadway before she leaves Wicked.

Posted: 11/28/08 at 3:07pmPerhaps it was the other half of the equity trade that brought Idina over to London when Wicked opened there? Since she was only in London for a short run (granted, even shorter than Kerry's here), then Kerry would only be in the US production for a short run as well.

Actually...Many times now, exchanges don't even have to be within a show. Gavin Creel extensive stay in London's Mary Poppins was actually a trade off for Lisa O'Hare to appear as Eliza Doolittle...

"has anyone seen the current cast?"
I have seen the current cast. Marcie Dodd is an AMAZING Elphaba. Brynn O'Malley is a very good Nessa. I do not like Alli Mauzey as Glinda or Kevin Kern as Fiyero. Alli is too opera-fied for me and Kevin is just to old to be playing Fiyero. HE and Marcie look like father and daughter. Same with him and Alli.
I'm sure adamgreer will tell you something completely different about the current cast though...LOL.
re: kerry ellis and wicked#9
Posted: 11/28/08 at 5:41pmI hate the current cast for the most part. I LOVE Alli Mauzey, but despise Marcie Dodd. Kevin looks too old, and Brynn is pretty good. I used to dislike Alex Brightman, but I enjoy him now.

re: kerry ellis and wicked#11
Posted: 11/28/08 at 5:43pmI love Marcie from what I've heard on YouTube. I'll be making a real opinion of the whole cast soon.
re: kerry ellis and wicked#12
Posted: 11/28/08 at 5:58pmWishing, Marcie is way better than the stuff on that site IMO.
re: kerry ellis and wicked#13
Posted: 11/28/08 at 6:07pmOh, I'm sure but I loved her based on the videos on there so when I heard she was coming over I got my ticket just to see her.

re: kerry ellis and wicked#17
Posted: 11/29/08 at 12:27amThe Creel/O'Hare exchange has a lot to do with Poppins and Lady having the same producer.
