Idena did have a song in the film but it was cut. Hope it will be on the DVD release. Hope it was better than the three that got nominated.
And did that guy ruin the third song!
Thanks, guys.
It sure looked like her, but since they never really got a close-up, I thought it was probably a ringer. Ha!
Idina's song was "Ever Ever After" - at the last minute they got Carrie Underwood to sing it 'cause she's more of a "name"
Hated It! I kept waiting for a big moment that never came. Was it me or was the last note a little flat?
Elphie: That's inaccurate. Menzel sang a duet with Marsden titled "Enchanted," but it was cut.

"And did that guy ruin the third song!"
Um, hopefully you realize he is the originator of the song. He sang it in the film and on the soundtrack.
Yeah, the performance was painful. I think maybe she and Amy Adams should have switched songs. Kristin sounded like she was out of breath about half way through. And though I like Kristin's voice, it just didn't sound right in that song.
I really don't know why they chose her to do this at all. Were they thinking Galinda=Giselle?? Cuz...no.

I thought Amy's performance was better than Kristins. However, I wish she would have worn a dress that fir the character instead of that black dress.

Amy's performance had much more personality. Which is strange because Kristin's a great character actress, but oh well.
Kristin made the song too serious, IMO.

"did he ruin the song"
Well, at least you could concentrate on other things in the film, he was too prominently featured on the telecast.
None of the ENCHANTED songs came off well.

I, too, hope these ends up on the DVD. Looong before the movie was released I had seen an interview with Marsden in which he made mention of the duet. I was definitely looking forward to it and was saddened when I heard it was dropped.
Ah well...DVD preorders start on March 4 at the Disney Store. Can't wait to see what the free giveaway is!
I was so dissapointed in the performance. It ended and I could't believe that was it.
emmadny, I have to disagree that the Enchanted songs work better in context than the song in Once. Falling Slowly was one of the best scenes I've seen in film all year.
I enjoy that they had complete replicas of the sets for "How Do You Know" and "So Close", complete costume and wig replicas for the dancers playing Adam's, Marsden's, Dempesy and Menzel's roles... but n budget left for anything but an awkward dress for Amy Adams to wear in "Happy Working Song." I mean come on. They were performances of Disney songs on the Oscars telecat. Don't you think that Disney had something to do with the production of those numbers? Animation would have been hard to do for Amy Adam's number... but even if she were in the princess gown, and there were a few puppets it would have made sense.

Would this type of thing have been so hard to pull off?? Imean REALLY!

I debated on whether or not to start a new thread about this but I opted to just post here since I've already mentioned it. If ya'll think it deserves it's own thread (and enough people will care) I'll start one.
But anyway...I've just seen the free lithographs that Disney is giving away with Enchanted pre-orders. They're actually pretty nice. There are four in a special folder. One is a cartoon one with Giselle and Edward, one is of just Giselle in NYC wearing her wedding gown, one of is Edward at the manhole, and the fourth one is of Robert holding the apple above a sleeping Giselle.
Pre-orders start on Tuesday, March 4 and will be released on March 18. I'll definitely be pre-ordering my copy!
If I find out anything about what the extra features are I'll share that info as well.

sweet posters!
where can u see them?
I would rather have seen Amy in this song and someone else in the other one. I love Kristen but i was kind of suprised to see her up there for this. Is there a rule that someone can't perform more than one song at the show?

It was refreshing to see her NOT give her standard kiddy beautiy queen contest performance. There's hope for her yet

No such rule.. one year Beyonce sang them all!
It was ABC/Disney taking an opportunity to give exposure to one of their stars.
"Poor Amy was just left to sing alone on stage."
Poor Amy? She did a fine job.

that's interesting about Idina having a song in Enchanted because I recently read an interview with her about how she was asked to do the movie, and when she saw that her part didn't sing, she was flattered that they wanted her based on acting ability alone...
"where can u see them?"
They're not shown on the website but I'll see what I can do about taking a picture.
