Have you seen Forgetting Sarah Marshall?

I agree, peoples casting ideas here are all over the place.
Elle - Kristen Bell would be a good choice.
Emmett - Rob Patterson maybe? He's quite big right now, has that 'look' and can sing.
Warner - Chris Lorrell? (I forget) In Veronica Mars/now in Private Practice. Looks the part, an older Zac Efron. No idea if he can sing - but Warner doesn't sing much.
Paulette - Orfeh probably could do it.
Callahan -________
Vivienne - Leighten Meeser? I forget her name, but Blair from Gossip Girl. She can sing, has a bit of a following and can do preppy bitch to a tee.
Brooke - ________
Margot - Amanda Seyfried? It would just be a reprise of her Mean Girls role though.
Serena - ________
Pilar - Tracie Thoms? Don't know how old she is. Raven perhaps.
Enid - ________

Amanda Seyfried isn't a good enough singer, IMO.
Also, I think Rob's too young.

Rob's style of singing wouldn't really work for the show. He's much more of a folk style singer.

I would love to see Kristen Bell as Elle, but I'd also be a little disappointed if she took the part.

I love people getting all high and mighty about Kristen Bell.
LB is no worse than Pootie Tang or Pulse. Most of her films haven't seen wide release so I don't think LB is beneath her.

Posted: 11/22/08 at 1:45pmFilmwise I would agree with you on Kristen Bell. But right now she is a kind of the It Girl for numerous niches. She already clearly has the nerd market cornered after Veronica Mars and the upcoming Fanboys. Plus (as you can tell on here), although her vocal ability isn't necessarily right for Elle in my opinion, she also has the musical theater thing going for her. I kind of realized how hot (and I don't mean looks, though, okay yeah that as well) she is when Veronica Mars ended and she had to decide between two amazing offers from television: Lost or Heroes. Now whether or not you like these shows, for an actress who had up to that point never had one box-office hit to be offered roles on two of television's biggest hits, that's something.

I just think a Legally Blonde movie musical is a bad idea. It's totally unnecessary. First of all, the original movie is less than 10 years old. Second, the stage show does not improve on the movie at all so there's really no point in making a movie musical that would have to compete in people's minds with the first movie, especially since most people still think of Reese Witherspoon as the quintessential Elle Woods, not Bailey Hanks or Laura Bell Bundy, or whoever.
Plus, I think the whole Legally Blonde brand is exhausted. There's been two movies, a stage show, the MTV broadcast, and the reality show. Isn't that enough? Do we really need a Legally Blonde movie musical?
If Shrek turns out to be a big hit will people start clamoring for a Shrek movie musical as well?
