First wait a little while until more info on a revival is out. The show just closed a couple years ago.

Since when was there talk of a revival!? That show was on Broadway for so long, that I think it needs a VERY long vacation from Bway!

A revival?
There isn't any.
Besides, IT JUST F*CKING CLOSED LAST YEAR.
IT IS STILL RUNNING IN LONDON.
OH. MY. GOD.
Please. Stop talking about it. You're just making yourself look dumb(er than you are).
Ouch! Yikes, there's no need for attacks here, folks.
Anyway, a Broadway revival of Les Miz won't be happening for a few decades. The role of Eponine is usually cast with an 18-25 year old. Still in performance are the US tour, the UK tour, and the West End production (which recently moved theatres).

chill, i started talking about because I read past posts about it...and when people were talking about revivals someone said les mis was coming back in 12 years...chill. if it bothers you..don't read the post...its that simple.
From what I heard, Cameron closed Les Miz, because the sooner he'd close it, the sooner he could do a revival. He wanted to change the production, and the only way he could do it was close it. I have a feeling he's gonna pull an Into the Woods and revive it in ten years.
Sorry Cathy. We're not all that rude around here.
Musetta-one word for you. PROZAC.

justice---I heard the same as you and agree that a revival will come a little earlier than one would expect. I happen to love les miz----think it's probably the best music on bdwy (and I LOVE broadwayL!!) (just my opinion of course) :)
Hmmm, I didn't hear that, but I really don't know very much at all about the Broadway production. Its probably true, but I wouldn't know. *hangs head in shame* That'd be really interesting. Cameron wanted to change it? Do you know how? I hope that there's a revival A.S.A.P. (but, ONLY if its good, lol). I love Les Miz too, justafan, its my absolute favorite (a first love thing, you know?).

WHY REVIVE THIS?????!!!!!
I closed a few years ago. Make room for new stuff on Broadway!!!! Les Mis is over and done with. Enjoy other shows.
You have a point, gherbert. I hate to say, you're probably right. *grumble* *grumble* *grumble*
How weird would it be to still have the "original" version in London and everywhere else in the world, including the tour, and then have a revival on Broadway? I think it'll be quite a while before the revival, because everyone is still making a fortune on that show in the numerous productions around the world, so wouldn't it be dumb to close them down just to re-open them and risk people not liking what they've changed?

What I am interested in is what Cameron Mackintosh will do for the current production in London when the 20th anniversary time (late this year) arrives.
Will he have famous stage actors ( especially those who have played roles in the show in the past) take over the major leads, maybe for a short run?
Maybe have former Marius-es play Valjean, former Enjolras play Javert, former grown-up Eponines and Cossettes play Fantine, young Cossettes, Gavroches and Eponines play the grown-up juvenile leads?

The current Eponine on the West End, Gemma Wardle, looks like she's in her late 30's possibly even early fourties. She's tiny though only about 5 feet tall. It really depends. I thought she looked a little old.
In response to jo:
Well, there was a concert or something apparently where Michael Ball played Valjean....I remember someone talking about it. It would be cool to see Les Mis legends change it up a bit. Judy Kuhn would be a fabulous Fantine (I mean, that is if the incandescent Ruthie Henshall isn't available!) I definitely don't think they should just re-do the 10th anniversary cast. That was amazing, but its been done.
A revival of Les Mis? Gag me with a spoon.

Yes, I have heard about Michael Ball being Valjean for the special Windsor Castle concert version of the show.
In addition to Michael maybe playing Valjean, how about Anthony Warlow ( who once sang Enjolras) play the role of Javert, maybe Zoe Hart ( the original Cossette in the first Barbican show in 1984, who is now a grown-up stage actress) play the role of Eponine or Cossette, maybe one of the Gavroches play Enjolras??? A lot of interesting possibilities. I agree with you - I don't think it should just be another concert version as they did for the 10th anniversary. And if Cameron Mackintosh decides to film one of the performances, I wouldn't mind that either
