I have seen both and I didn't really notice any huge differences.
the set is smaller for the tour.
The end of Bway Les Miz resembles the show.
For some reason (maybe it was Nick Wyman's choice not to) the tour Thenardier says "Valjean!" in the sewers....
Oh, and they do one day more like at the tony's - no popping out of the sewers (and Javert/VJ/Marius don't disappear into the sewers)

well depending on the venue the Thenardiers appear from the sewers rather than running out on stage... i've seen it done both ways
HEHE
I guess my venues always suck!
Seen it on tour and in London but not on Broadway.
oh, how i miss les mis
Les Mis needs to come back. How long do you think it'll be until a revival? *crosses fingers*
I personally don't like the tour, or I didn't when I saw it. But I loved it in London and on Broadway.
As for a revival, I kind of hope it doesn't come back soon and it's my favorite show. Why? Because I don't want to see it come back before it's missed and then fail. I'd rather it become something that people will think Yay! it's coming back! Rather than wonder if it ever closed in the first place.
HEHE, I said that in my Les Mis thread...
....and got yelled at...
It IS missed! It is missed HUGELY! By me anyway...*sniffles*
I never got to see it in NY. Pity me!

why didn't you like the tour. i just got tkts and im wondering if its as good.
as for a revival... NO. not until it is absolutly mandatory for the sake of broadway having something FANTASTIC on it!
How do you know who the people that are performing are going to be? lists anywhere?

oh... speaking of the tour... i just saw it last Sunday here in Los Angeles... it's like my sixth of seventh time seeing it... i've lost track... and i absolutely loved it... (except for the current Eponine, who in one word, sucks.. don't feel like giving a review unless asked)... after all these years... still has the power to make audiences cheer.... the only other show i've seen more times is Miss Saigon (17!!!)
this is also my third time seeing the show with the changes and i still don't like them... i'm so used to hearing the original score... the cuts still irk me...
I wasn't a huge fan of the Eponine either, but I liked her more than the Marius (who was too darn smiley) and the Cosette (together they had no chemistry, and both of them were pretty flat, acting-wise).
What changes were made from the original? Last month was my first and only time seeing the show.

well if i'm not mistaken.. 30 minutes were trimmed from the show as when they went over the 3 hour mark the producers had to go into overtime... so bits and pieces of the score are gone... such as a verse from COME TO ME, IN MY LIFE, DOG EATS DOG and other conversational music.. etc...
you know I really liked the Marius and Cosette on tour... i thought Marius had a great voice (and he's half Filipino!!! WOO HOO) as did Cosette... i usually hate the character but she made me love her... oh well... to each his own.. but Eponine still sucked.
eatlasagna did you ever get to see Lea Solanga as Miss Saigon? I can't believe you have seen it 17 times!! Wow ... that is my all time favorite Broadway.
Would you reccomend Les Mis the tour... because our school is doing the show this year, and we might go see it a couple months before we perform.

as for the tour.. it's the tour that's been around for quite some time now... about 6 or 7 years... they are an excellent touring show... even the understudies are all freaking amazing... GO SEE THE SHOW
alrighty thanks for the heads-up

And there was a big turn-over this summer. Most of the cast got replaced when the tour restarted again in October.
Does this mean that the cast on the website of lesmis.com are incorrect? Or were they updated?

The cast last year, save a few ppl, was horrible!
The official website is updated. (That's where I got my press material last month. )
Hey, is there a closing date yet for Les Mis in London, or is it open-ended? Is it the same format as the current tour, or will I get to see the extra 30 minutes?
