wouldn't it be easier to get the most people for a get together if it were "virtual?"
Why not try to plan a yahoo cam/mic gathering? That way lots of folks could likely see and hear each other at the same time.
I suspect it might also be and feel safer for some members.

a: Isn't that what we're basically already doing, minus the visuals?
b: That is so techno-cyber-geeky it's almost unbearable.
c: Not everyone *has* a cam or mic
d: If we didn't want to actually *meet* each other, in *person*, the idea wouldn't have been brought up to begin with.
If there are people who are uncomfortable meeting people from online in person...don't come! It's not an entirely difficult solution to this particular quandary.
