memorial songs

hi! i was just asked to sing at a memorial for the one year anniversary of a beloved voice teacher's death. i want to sing something that isn't too overdone or generic. i was wondering if anybody had any ideas... thanks!

Perhaps "Some Other Time" from On the Town...which is a bit more poignant with the passing of Ms. Comden.

If you studied with the teacher, it might be nice to sing something you learned with him/her that has meaning for you. Alternatively, you might sing something that exemplifies why the teacher was so beloved. For example, if he/she was known for exposing students to new ideas, "Open a New Window" from Mame might be appropriate.
Pass it on - Take a kid to a show.
