memphis last show

Did anyone see the last performance of Memphis today? Curious if there were any speeches and if Chad was in the audience.
Appreciate any info. Thanks.

I was there. Chad was sitting three rows in front of me(I was row N - right orch.). Montego did all the speeches after the curtain call & thanked the entire creative team, swings, alumni, etc. who all came out on stage for an encore of "Rock 'n Roll". And based on the amount of cameras that came out, I'm sure it'll be on youtube soon. Partial standing ovations after "Colored Woman" & "Big Love". A near full standing ovation after "Memphis Lives in Me". Excellent energy from the audience & cast. Stage door was packed, so my friends & I didn't hang around.

Thanks for information, will check out youtube. Never been to a closing night and always wondered what it would be like. Enjoyed the show when I saw it last summer.

Seems like it was a wonderful show. Part of the curtain call (the Steal Your Rock N Roll part) is on youtube right now. Did anyone manage to get a full recording of the show?

recordings of shows are not legal, therefore there is no sanctioned recording of the last performace... if someone did do it illegally they can not speak about it openly on this forum

I would love to see or hear a clip of Adam's last "Memphis Lives in Me." That last note kills me. I am sad that by time they announced it was closing airfare prices were already ridiculous. I have visited New York twice. I saw eleven Shows the first time and thirteen shows the second time and I enjoyed Memphis the most both trips. After seeing it on tour last Tuesday in Los Angeles, I know if was because of the amazing broadway cast. I think people who did not enjoy the show with Chad Kimball may have enjoyed the show with Adam Pascal.

WOW!! That was beautiful!! It was such a magical show and loved that I was able to be there that day. Wish every show did that for their final performance.

I can't believe this show closed!!! This? was the worst decision Broadway ever made!!! I saw this show about 5 times and listen to the soundtrack daily!!! In 2-5 years this show better be revised!!!

I couldn't agree more. This show needs to be revised ASAP. LOL.

I know a lot of people don't like the show, but I really love some of it's songs. "Say A Prayer" gets me every time, but in that video...wow.
