Actually I could see the film possibly doing much better than Sweeney because a lot of schools do Into The Woods. Kids that have done the show would more than likely go see it. Especially if enough of the cast is recognizable.

This works because 1) Cheno has done movies so its not a huge stretch for her and 2) Vanessa Williams, even though, already did the role, she has a fan base because of Ugly Betty.

Baker – Matthew Broderick
This idea really works for me.
Baker's Wife – Laura Linney
Jack – Rupert Grint/Freddie Highmore
In an odd way, I could see this working very well. You need someone bold but still timid.
Jack's Mother – Helena Bonham Carter(for Freddie Highmore)/Debra Monk for Rupert Grint
Both are verrry motherly.
Little Red Riding Hood – Abigail Breslin
Cinderella's Stepmother Joy – Anjelica Houston??

I could easily see him as the wolf. It would be a good role for him.

Great actress from the Producers, Duplex and Charlie and the Chocolate factory.
