It would be very helpful to know which theaters have the most comfortable or uncomfortable seats. Recently I attended a production of GEM OF THE OCEAN at the Walter Kerr and thought I would have to visit my chiropractor after two plus hours in the VERY painful orchestra seats.

Fortunately, I saw DOUBT, a terrific play, during its pre-Broadway run at the very comfortable MTC at City Center. There is NO DOUBT that I would not be as impressed with the play had I seen it at the Kerr.

The Belasco is also known for its tortuous seats. Considering the hefty prices of tickets, we should not have to subject our bodies to pain and suffering.

I think the Gershwin's pretty darn comfy.
