Hello,

1) Are there any problems concerning attending shows while in previews? Do most shows usually change drastically before opening, or do the actors not offer a full fledged performance? I just purchased tickets to a Lestat preview showing so I'm wondering.

2) Also, has anyone ever sat towards the back of The Palace Theatre? I'm in row X. Any thoughts?

Thank you, much love

Shows in previews are often not as "together" as the final version, but I think you can usually count on the performers doing their best. How many changes there are really depends on what shape the show is in when previews start. Sometimes there are lots of changes, sometimes only minimal ones. The Palace Theater is pretty big. I've sat fairly close and up in the balcony. That far back it was useful to have opera glasses, so you might want to consider that when you go.

Darn it... well, in that case, any good suggestions for a cheap yet effective pair of opera glasses? :o)

For me, I can't sit far back, because I just can't see the facial expressions of the actors, with for me, is key to enjoying the performane. Word of mouth is that Lestat is selling poorly, and is likely to be on TKTS often, so you could probably sit close for half of the ticket price. Also, closer to the preview date, there are likely to be discounts. Check Broadwaybox.com often. I know I will.

Hate to be a n00b once again, and I'm really not that bad, I've seen dozens of shows, but they've always been with family. How does the whole TKTS system work. Any given day you just check in on what they have? Do they get good seats or nosebleeds? Is it only in person?

I've gotten tickets (for DRS)from TKTS and they were pretty bad seats...way up in the left mezzanine. Not that it mattered to me...I was just seeing the show because I was with a group and our first choice was sold out.

And, yes, it's whatever they have when you show up at the booth. I've heard some people say they've had really good luck and others haven't.

The Palace? Sounds like someone else is interested in "Lestat."

What TKTS offers is what the show releases to them. Closer to curtain, the box office MAY or MAY NOT release more tickets, and usually really good seats. Before the lottery was in the front row, I had a center orchestra, row k aisle seat to Hairspray. The quality of the seats changes from show to show and day to day. You can always ask where the seats are located. If you are by yourself, the tkts agent usually finds you the best possible seat.

Interested in Lestat I am! I'm just hoping Row X will be good seating. I just couldn't wait until after I come home from school. I get too anxious with these things.
