I wish there was a recording of Marin Mazzie as Aldonza, b/c I really wanted to see her in it and I don't very much care for MEM's voice on the recording and just so I'd have another cd to listen to Marin on.

my parents saw it in previews with everyone but Marin (obviously) and then my mom told me we might be able to go to NYC last summer before it closed but it turned out that we couldn't. I was so dissapointed and I am so jealous of you.

Marin Mazzie was excellent as Aldonza.
I thought Carolee Carmello blew away the part of Miss Pennywise in Urinetown.
I adored Burke Moses in Kiss Me, Kate.
And hang on, when did you win the discus?

re: non OBC favorite casts/replacements you wish you had seen

I wish I had a recording of Caroline O' Connor, Charlotte d'Amboise and Billy Zane in Chicago.

I'd also like a recording of the show I saw in May with Belle Calaway as Roxie, Pia Douwes as Velma and Michael Kubala as Billy Flynn.

Other casts I saw that I would like a recording of:

Raul and Gina Gershon in Cabaret.

The London Kiss Me, Kate cast with Brent Barrett (I realize Marin and Michael Berresse are on the Broadway revival cd...did Carolee Carmello ever do London? If so, then I'd like one with her.)

The Urinetown tour cast with Tom Hewitt as Officer Lockstock, and the Broadway replacement cast with Charles Shaughnessy, Amy Spanger and Carolee. (But with Hunter Foster as Bobby. If Hunter ever did it with Amy, I can't remember now...)

That's all that comes to mind that I saw...as for replacements/understudies I didn't see that I wish I had, I could be here all day listing those...

re: non OBC favorite casts/replacements you wish you had seen

Yes to wanting a complete cast album of Reba McIntrie in "Annie Get Your Gun." I bought the glossy souvenier booklet which included a CD with a couple of songs by McIntire--"You Can't Get a Man With a Gun" and "I Got Lost in His Arms." Wonderful. And while these are not people in musicals, I will take the opening Margo's post provided and say that I saw Sally Field in "The Goat" and Faye Dunaway in "Master Class" (in Philly, on a cold winter night, with the flu, and she kept the audience waiting 45 minutes--perhaps getting into her role as a diva?). They were both superb--Dunaway actually better, I think, than Zoe Caldwell, who originated the role. As far as other musicals go, I love, love, love Belle Callaway as Roxie (in "Chicago," of course), and wouldn't mind having a cast album with her on it.
