non OBC favorite casts/replacements you wish you had seen

okay so sometimes you see a show and then you go home and listen to the OBC or revival album and wish that you could have a recording of the cast you just saw

now if you managed to follow that here's the question - anybody have casts that they wish they had recordings of or a replacement actor/actress you wish you could hear

here are mine
one's i've seen
susan egan and adam pascal in cabaret
susan egan in millie

ones i'd love to hear/see
taye diggs in wicked (don't get me wrong - i LOVE norbert but I would have loved to hear it!!)
idina in aida (same thing! sherie rules but I wish i could hear it)
barrett foa in avenue q (john rules but barrett is awesome!)

hopefully that makes some sense - i'd love to hear from you all

That I've seen:
my Adam in Cabaret
Hunter Foster in The Producers (no one could beat Nathan and Matthew, I'm sure, but he's fantastic)
I know there are more, but moving on...

That I'd have loved to see:
Idina in Aida
Cary Shields in Rent
Raul in Cabaret
Sutton in Les Mis

wish i saw marissa jaret winokur in grease
i wish they had a joey fatone in rent and lsoh recording i saw him in both

Apparently Brooks said Foster was the best Bloom yet! Id love to see him in the role.

Id love to see:
Susan egan in "Millie"
Adam and Susan in "Cabaret"
Sutton and Hunter in "Les Mis"
Edit: Jai in Rent, Idina in Aida, Sherie in Rent, Roger as Leo in Producers

Karen Ziemba and James Brennan in CRAZY FOR YOU - I saw them three times - twice on tour, once on Broadway.

But I do have recordings of them - audio and video... just not, uhh, "official" ones...


I WISH I'd seen Karen as Peggy Sawyer in "42nd Street" back in 1984. Or as either Morales or Cassie in A CHORUS LINE - she did both roles (among others) on tour.

Elaine Stritch as Martha in "Who's Afraid of Virgina Woolf" (she did the matinees -- actually I wish I'd seen Uta Hagen do the evening performances as well)

Nancy Opel as "Evita" (she did LuPone's matinees)

Ann Reinking as Cassie in ACL

Bebe Neuwirth as Sheila in ACL (1980 -- she was 22)

Liza Minnelli as Roxie Hart in "Chicago" (she played the role while Verdon was out having voice surgery -- I also wish I'd seen Verdon)

Faye Dunaway in "Master Class" (in LA?)

Diahann Carroll in "Sunset Boulevard" (in Toronto -- not crazy about the show, but I hear she was terrific)

David Bowie in "Elephant Man" (maybe it's just a loincloth thing)

Sally Field in "The Goat" (heard she was brilliant, but I never got around to it)

Richard Burton and Keith McDermott in "Equus" (Burton received a special Tony for his performance and gave it to McDermott)

I doubly hate you. re: non OBC favorite casts/replacements you wish you had seen I'm so jealous! Was it just those two, or was it a bigger concert?

On that note, I want to add Kerry Butler in BatB (on Broadway) and Prodigal.

jonartdesigns, I saw Ms Holliday in Chicago. Having grown up on the OBCR of Dreamgirls, seeing her sing was one of the most incrediable performances I've ever witnessed. I was sitting in a seat where I could see the ensemble backstage during her "When You're Good to Mamma" and they (and the audience)were all clapping and cheering before she finnished her last riff.
And then I got to meet her...
Omigawd, I'll never forget that night. Absolutely incrediable.
