Where do the actors exit from if they are not into stage dooring and greeting fans? Do they go through the front doors or are there other entrances? Do they wait until the fans are gone?

The answer to all of your questions could be yes.

There is a reason you don't know.

If they want to see the fans, they would come out the stagedoor. Usually, going out other exits means that they can't/don't want to/don't have time to see the fans.

But, for some theatres they only have the option of going out the main doors or the stage doors. And, for many theatres the stage door and the main door are right by one another. So in terms of going out the main door as oppose to the stage door to miss fans at the door. It is pointless because they would see you anyways regardless of where you exit from.

I remember being bored and watching a stage door video of Grease on Youtube. Someone asked (I think the person asked Jenny Powers) do they have to exit the through the stage door. Powers said that the only other exit for them is the main doors that the audience enters and exits from but it is so close to the stage door that she would be seen regardless. A lot of theatres are situated like that.

"But, for some theatres they only have the option of going out the main doors or the stage doors."

If that were the case the theater would be in a major violation of fire codes.

And that's absolutely untrue of the Atkinson. There's the stage door, the theater lobboy, and the alleyway close to the Italian restaurant,

Actually if they went out the main entrance even though the stage door is near it, they wouldn't be noticed probably because 1. people usually aren't looking for the stars coming out the main doors just at the stage door 2. They would be mingled in with the crowd and look just like a regular person.

I am just telling you what I heard/saw from that video. I am not saying it is true or not.

A lot of the theatres do have fire exits. But, they are not that easy to access for someone to just get out and use as a regular exit.

But, generally it is pretty easy to tell when an actor doesn't want to sign. If the particular fan would realize that or not is a different story altogether.

Some go out the lobby.

Yul Brynner would not meet with fans even coming out of the stage door. He has 2 or 3 bodyguards who pushed the fans away.

worst (or best) theater in that respect is the marquis, it in a hotel with no fewer than 6 entrances.
