I want to send a gift to congratulate a friend who is opening on Sunday. I know you send flowers if its a female, what do you send for a male? Please help, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks.

My thoughts exactly TDH.
I dunno, a "Piece of Flair?"
You could go to the show if that is possible. I'm sure you being there would mean more to him than any present you could buy.

I've sent hard candy to guys that are wrapped in individually so they can be shared with the rest of the cast.
It might be better to send something that means something to you and your friend rather than something generic. Some sort of knickknack for his dressing room that he can look at and think of you.

I think the poster means that (s)he has a friend who is making his opening night on Broadway this Sunday. Like, as a replacement cast member, perhaps.
I'd send a nice note/letter, and, if you can be there, present him with something after the show.
