paid summer theater internships in Europe

i know it might be too late for this summer, but does anyone know of any types of opportunities in Europe for an American college kid (and citizen) who is interested in working in theater (ideally performing, but doesn't have to be...could be directing, etc), making money, and going to europe???

of course if someone knew of something for this summer, that would be great too!

yeah, i dunno how hard it is not being a citizen. i've been trying to research it, but it's so hard ahhh lol

Unfortunately because of work visa issues earning money in most European countries is going to be really difficult for non-EU citizens. The UK might be a little easier and Germany is very difficult (I taught there 5 years). Working in France seems to be next to impossible for non-French citizens. Some of the newer EU countries will have some better options.

If you go into the UK as a volunteer intern you can get permission to earn some money at least enough to get you by. Sounds crazy but I know someone who interned for a non-profit then worked in short term work to earn some extra cash.

If you could get there then look around you might it would help. There are some inexpensive and good basic housing options for students especially in Germany. homecompany{dot}de for example

Try expat online communities to connect with someone who might help. Also I would try the London theaters for internships.
