I am seeing Mary Poppins again this Saturday night. I saw Mary Poppins this past Saturday night. There was an understudy for Bert during that performance.

At the end of performance, Daniel Jenkins talked about the bc/efa donations.

I wanted to buy the backstage tour but $250 is a little out of my range. Does anyone want to pool their money this Saturday night? I think only four people are allowed to be in a group. So that would mean that each person would contribute $62.50.

Has anyone done a backstage tour of Mary Poppins? How long is it? Can you tour right after the evening performance? Who is usually the guide of the tour?

Also, after that evening performance (4/7) of Mary Poppins, a special thing occurred. A live auction was held. The auction was for a evening at Mary Poppins. The evening includes watching Mary Poppins from backstage on a loft. If I remember correctly, you get to meet all the cast members, and I think champagne is included.

The auction was held because it was Delanye Moro's (Jane Banks) last performance as Jane Banks.

The auction ended at $3,000. Two people won the auction.

I am not sure if the show is going to use two kids instead of three kids to play the role of Jane or Michael Banks. Do you think the producers have decided to use a permanent schedule for the roles of Jane and Michael Banks.

That reminds me of a couple of year ago when I saw The Boy From Oz for the first time and it was in March and they were raising money and they were doing a live auction and auction off a trip to Australia(I think) and one of Hugh's towels that would be signed by Hugh and John Travolta(he was in the audience)

From what I've gathered, there will now only be two children per Banks child. I think they've realized it's a waste of money to have three. Katherine Doherty and Kathryn Faughnan with Matthew Gumley and Henry Hodges.

Poppins...I will be there as well Saturday night, however, I am not up to pooling money along with you...I'm at the show for a special reason and may have plans afterwards...

By the way...no Rebecca Luker for you and me this weekend...according to her site she'll be in Florida doing a concert. Kristin Carbone will be our Mrs Banks.

Actually the Janes are Kathryn Faughnan, and replacements Nicole Bocchi and Devynn Pedell. They open this month.

Wow...they were quick to kick the kids out, weren't they? I was a tad wrong, then. However, I am fairly certain there will be only two children until the replacements come in.

Well...it is a 6 months run, so that's not bad...but still...it seems rather quick...or time just flew by.

It'll just be Katherine Doherty and Kathryn Faughnan for Jane until the end of the month and then Katherine Doherty leaves and the two replacements come in, and there will then be three Janes again.

Don't a lot of shows with kid roles have height/weight ceilings in place? Could that be the reason? That they've outgrown the role?

Possibly. I'll have to see for myself if Katherine's significantly grown since I saw her on TV in December. But, yes, that's usually the case when they say ta-ta to children.

I assume they have something in their contracts must work something like this (this is just an example/idea):

Sign on for 9 months, however, if by, say, 5 or 6 months, you've outgrown the role, you're run will end prematurely.

I took a tour of the Mary Poppins backstage area after the show a few weeks ago. The "guide" of the tour kind of changed, Gavin Lee did quite a bit of it, and then one of their stage managers guided through some of the other areas. It was a really really enjoyable experience, and we were backstage for close to 45 minutes. We got to take pictures with many of the props, and pictures onstage with Gavin. It was really interesting and I think it's definitely worth the money, it's one of my favorite experiences at a show so far.

I think it is a little shallow to charge people money. I mean I understand they just cannot let anyone do it but still.

It's to raise money for BCEFA though. Mary Poppins gets none of that money.

No, Ashley wasn't a part of the tour. She apparently had guests that night though, so maybe she typically is and I just had bad luck.

If you decide to purchase the tour, do you have to tour right after the show? Can you ask for a tour next week or tomorrow?

Isnt it kind of late to do a backstage tour after the show. The show usually ends at 10:45pm. So doing a tour would at least take you around 11:30pm.

How about doing a backstage tour after a matinee?

I believe you have to do the tour right after the show, or come back and purchase the tour on the day you wish to have it, but you can talk to them. And yes, it's rather late, we didn't get out of the show until 11;40.

OHHH! I completely take that back. If it is going to BCEFA that is totally ok. I thought they were just asking for a price.

Kelly.

Was Gavin still in costume during the backstage tour? I like to take photos with cast members still in costume.

Besides you, how many other people signed up for the tour that night?
