re: question for the tenors#2
Posted: 3/17/05 at 1:48pmI'm kind of a high high tenor. My resume says Low A flat (almost an octave and a third below middle C) and my Absolute high is a high E flat (an octave and a third above middle C).

re: question for the tenors#6
Posted: 3/17/05 at 4:39pmI don't know how low I can go but on a normal day I'm belting a high Ab which is my favorite note BTW. On a good day I'm up to B.

I'm 16---my voice hasnt gone through a rough voice change yet, but it gets gradually lower....thank god, I've been able to keep my high range---I think I might be the highest tenor in my school.
I can hit on great days a C below middle C. I usually draw the line at D, though. And I can belt an E above C above middle C.

Posted: 3/17/05 at 9:17pmThe lowest I can go is B flat (though not strong), and the highest belt is either an A flat, A, or B flat. I'm 30.

hmmmm.... "belty falsetto"
I dunno, I just switch into head voice, but there's a smooth transition through my brake/mid voice and its still a belt sound- not a hushed, operatic "choir" sounding falsetto.

Posted: 3/17/05 at 11:09pmi know what you mean. i have no break because i've worked on it for years. so i guess technically my voice going to the high f an octave and a fourth above middle c. but really, that's falsetto folks, all those that say they are belting those e's are joking.

re: question for the tenors#16
Posted: 3/18/05 at 12:22amno it's def not a falsetto. It's sort of a mix. Think Songs for a New World. I did that and it wasn't falsetto at all. Actually tenors have some of the weakest falsettos in that area. I mean if we're talking true falsetto I sing along with Kristin in Thank Goodness. But if I used that I'd sound like some crazy androgenous freak. It's sort of a mix. That's what Billy Porter does. It's def not falsetto.

Posted: 3/19/05 at 6:27amthanks guys. Just wondering how my range compares to others. I'm 17, and i sing to a B flat. I CAN go to high C, but i'm still young so i don't, because i'd rather keep my voice. :P
re: question for the tenors#18
Posted: 3/19/05 at 7:21amI'm 16 with a very strong voice. And I CAN sing C three octaves below middle C, but it's not that good so I would say E two octaves below middle C to high A flat. I have a very strong falsetto though, but I'm not sure of the exact range.
