random question about rent

Why does benny say "they'll see i can help them all out in the long run" there has to be a reason, i mean Johnathon Larson wouldn't just put it in the song to be there.

I know this, but just refresh my memory and tell me what song that's in?

ETA - oh, that's when he's on the phone with Allison, isn't it?

re: random question about rent

It's in the song rent, when benny is talking to alison on the phone

He says it in reference to him evicting them, and of course he thinks that hes helping them since they're putting in a performance studio

re: random question about rent

I think he's talking about the building for artists that he's trying to create out of the building where Mark and Roger live, no?

re: random question about rent

I think he's talking about Mark and Roger... how they've turned on him since he left them and married Allison, and how they're not treating him as well as he'd expect, after all he's done for them (allowed them to not pay their RENT). He saying that they'll see, with his new plans for the building, in the long run, he'll be helpful to them.

re: random question about rent

i thought that in a roundabout kinda way, benny knew that if he evicted them they would become friends at the end...lol it is in "rent"

They're not really friends because of that, though. I mean, Roger and Benny have it out because of Mimi's cheating. I guess they all find each other again when Benny pays for Angel's funeral and such.

re: random question about rent

This is on the Compulsive Bowlers FAQ - there was a part in "Over the Moon" where she used a paper plate as a prop.... apparently she cut it. She's freaking out about the performance, and Joanne is reminding her that she cut that part, I think

Q. What is Joanne talking about in We're Okay with the "No, you cut the paper plate" line?
A. Maureen originally had a paper plate in her performance piece (as a moon?) but cut it out of the show. It does not refer to cutting with scissors, but cutting out of a performance.

re: random question about rent

Scroll up; I added to my post. She didn't physically with scissors, she took it out of the performance.
