Ms. Egan found me on Myspace too and sent me a message saying how she was trying to get a showtunes catogorey on the music thing.
To answer the original question, no I have not even had anything close to a friendship with a Broadway actor.

The last time I went to see The Producers, I was outside the stage door and John Treacy Egan came out looked at me and said "Haven't You Been Here Before."
I've become friends with Daniel Reichard and Michael Longoria on myspace, but I get noticed more at the stage door because I sent them a letter with four copies of my article on Jersey Boys and some photos that I took with 3 of the guys(Christian, Daniel, and John). So, the last couple of times at the stage door I've had some Heys and Hi's from John, Daniel, and Christian. The best one was in April when John came out and he came by didn't say anything and I either showed him the article or my photo and he just said "Oh, you're Josh". It was really cool.

I'm Myspace friends with Daniel Reichard, Manoel Felciano, John Lloyd Young & Adam Pascal. Few others but those are my most recent adds. Dane Cook but everyone is myspace friends with Dane Cook, I think. I've exchanged e-mails with Daniel & Mano. Mano sometimes sounds put out in his responses so I don't really go to his page anymore. Daniel is much more fun in a jokey way.
I don't write Adam at all because he scares me but in a good way. :) I listen to his music clips at work.
I stage doored at Jersey Boys and I had a lot of fun. John Lloyd Young was out and I met Michael Longoria and he was excited about doing the door and signing my Playbill. All those guys were super sweet and down to earth.

I'm well known by....
We are great friends although lately they don't seem to be coming out of the stage door. I still wait for them, hoping to exchange a meaningful glance or two.

Posted: 8/11/06 at 2:28amI went to the Dirty Rotten Scoundrels stage door three nights in a row, even when I didn't see that show (I saw it the first of the three nights). I developed a familiarity with Greg Jbara, and by the third night, he had stayed after everyone who wanted an autograph from any actor had left and we were just talking. I adore that guy.

Posted: 8/11/06 at 2:33amI don't know if this counts, but I followed JLY home one night, so I know where he lives. I watch him every night. So I guess we are kinda friends. I mean, he doesn't know who I am, or anything, but I'm sure he would love me if we met.

Posted: 8/11/06 at 3:37amAh, such an interesting thread. I would never personally call myself a friend persay of any actor (though Mr. Jbara considers his fans friends so I think most of us Gregheads can accept the monikor) only because we are still fans above friends. Just because I communicate with NLB does that mean we are buddies, although he is extremely nice. I think the term friends in this context can be replaced by "casual acquantiances" (spelling I know) since most of our relationships with busy actors are basically casual. If you actually hang out with them outside of the theater setting several times a month and have some good times, then the friend term is more appropriate. Regardless though, it is nice to have contact with your favorite stars, no matter how big or small. Just know the limits.
