i was watching this, it was very interesting.
it was talking about how musicals/theatre are incorporated into pop culture today. and about how they stunt cast celebs like ashlee simpson and usher into musicals and get a bigger audience. and then celebrities like beyonce and gwen stefani came on and talked about how old school musicals inspired them and how they loved them so and so forth.
and then towards the end, they said something about how, now it might be cool to be a theatre kid or something.
all i could think about was how annoyed i was that they think it's like a fad. ugh. ignorant people.
did anyone else see this on MTV news?
thoughts?

It's good that they think it's a fad on MTV, it's the only way they'll cover it.
Fads are, by their very nature, popular.
So rock on if musicals are popular once in a while!
.......
That makes me really happy that more people are getting exposed to theatre, but I don't like it when those people aren't genuine about their feelings.
The ones that stick to ONE show and only support that ONE show and believe that ONE show revolutionized all things theatre.
Grease revolutionized theatre. It's true.
I was actually talking about this one specific person who goes to my school. She believe that Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is the best thing that ever happened to anyone EVER.
Ah ha. I can beat you. One girl at my school thinks The Little Mermaid revolutionized musicals. Dead serious.
Um WICKEd revolutionized theatre. LIke, duh..
But I thought that The Wedding Singer was, like the second coming of musical theatre... but, geez, what do I know?
