I know a bit about this show because it was done in the style of Working (which I was in).
The writer went and interviewed a bunch of runaways, street kids from various backgrounds, wrote songs about their stories, and bam- you have a musical.

I know the show reasonably well.
It is a good show without a whole lot of humor. It will be up to the cast to pull some smiles out of the show. The lack of a natural humor (like Liz Swados herself) is the show's biggest flaw.
Really good music, okay lyrics, blameful book, but a lot of chances to shine. The comparision to Working is fair enough as there is no story per se, but rather a lot of songs and monologues that shape the whole.
Better songs are Lullaby From Baby to Baby, Lonesome of the Road, and Let Me Be a Kid.
The cast album was released on disc fairly recently.
Anyone deaf in your school? Runaways was the first musical to feature a deaf actor as a principal "singing" character. The late Bruce Hlibok 'sang' with his hands as either an interpreter or other cast members translated for him. Singing with one's hands sounds contradictory, but he did it.
