scary spice

it seems like all i have been posting lately is mean stuff but that is what everybody talks about backstage. the new word is all about scary spice. i was told that she had all of her costumes changed because she looked so large in the normal ones. the mimi blue pants are now black as an example. she keeps her personal assistant backstage at all times and has acted like quite the diva. someone in the hair/makeup/wardrobe crew (i left it vague on purpose) , has characterized her as a total "nightmare".
she also has cracked in every song she sings and seems to be totally unable to sing the role.
guess we will all find out on friday when she goes in.

People must have known this. Her name is "Scary" after all.

I know the guy who played the piano for her audition, and he said she was massively "eh" and he had to help her out with the pitch a lot.

With Frenchie coming back, Drew coming in the fall and Scary staying for some of Drew's run, it's going to be interesting times at the Nederlander.

And not to discount localonecrew, but a few people I know who work at the theater say that Mel is very nice. I guess it is a perspective thing.

I dont beleive that she acts like a diva at all, I have met her at the theatre 3 times already and she's a really nice person. I even asked her to call my friend on my cell and she did it without hesitating, just shows that she's really nice. Whitney is what you call an ignorant person and rude to everyone including her own fans, she's just disgusting. About Mel B's singing, I hope she can prove everyone wrong.
The "Scary" label wasnt even serious, they just used those nicknames for fun and she's not scary at all, she's really beautiful and nice to her fans in real life. Thats all I can say.

I have to say I LOVED the Spice Girls Movie. Particularly Meat Loaf and their cover of Gary Glitter's "Come On, Come On." Somehow, Scary as Mimi (at this point so far after RENT has passed its freshness date) makes more sense than boy band members in the cast.

^ Agreed. However, vocally, I can't see Mel being able to belt out, say, Out Tonight, the way Daphne can.

BTW, did I miss something? Frenchie's coming back? When is this??

I met Scary Spice at the Wax Museum on 42nd Street. She introduced me to Oprah there.

MelB4Ever are you insane?

Well said Wicked Elphie.

I'm interested in seeing Ms. Brown up on those bars but I think she will be one of the worst Mimi's to set foot on the Nederlander stage. I have met her and she is nice...but since she's now acting...don't you think she could be acting nice to fans? Frenchie Davis turned out to be the biggest diva bitch. In her first week she was nice...you know what happened after that? All the praise got to her and she bacame jaded. My opionion - she wasn't even good, now Catrice Joseph, Maia Nkenge-Wilson, & Gwen Stewart - those women deserve the praise Ms. Davis got. Alot of people in this business are two faced I'm sure you're going to see that for yourself before September.
